Filtering by protocol

These options apply to the import stage only and do not affect the data in the database.

Unavailable for WinProxy and Squid.

The Filtering by protocol section contains the settings that determine the rules of protocol filtering on the data import stage.

Enable filtering by protocol on import stage — enable this option to allow filtering by protocol on the import stage. The rest of the protocol filtering options on the import stage will become available when this option is enabled.

Do not process protocols listed below — if this option is enabled, records in log files corresponding to the protocols on the list will be excluded from processing. This option comes in handy if the number of excluded protocols is lower than the number of other protocols.

Process only protocols listed below — if this option is selected, only those records in log files will be processed that correspond to the protocols on the list. Use this option if the number of processed protocols is lower than the number of other protocols.

To add a protocol to the filtering list, enter its name into the input field located under the list and press Add.

A protocol can be specified in one of the following formats:

“tcp:port” ot “udp:port”, for instance TCP:1234, UDP:5678
“port”, for instance 654. This value will be accepted for both TCP and UDP, so this notation will be identical to TCP:654 and UDP:654
“IP level protocol name”, e.g. GRE, ICMP, TCP

To add several protocols to the list at the same time, enter their names separated by a semi-colon into the input field and press Add. If the import operation has already been performed, you can select the protocols to add in the list generated by the program. To do that, press Select, select the necessary protocols using checkboxes and press Select again. To remove a protocol from the filtering list, select it in the list and press the Delete button.
